By the way, the dinosaur tracks are the round things that actually stick out of the side of the rock face, not indentations! I added a still picture of that moment later in the video, which also lets you see the row of hogbacks with the road ahead.
Now I can tell you, the ancient tracks are in the rock face on the left side of the frame - about 50 seconds into the video.
Since this was a spontaneous drive and filming, I unfortunately didn't clean the windshield beforehand - sorry! Also, I didn't know exactly where the dinosaur tracks where until after finishing the drive. To make sure you get to see everything, I am now sharing with you the Complete Cañon City Skyline Drive at only twice the original driving speed - and with a few additional shots of the view from the overlook. You see, Cañon City has had a rather large population of bad guys and gals for well over a century - most of them living in prison cells. The only reason it was built, was because of the plentiful source of very cheap labor in Cañon City. It’s utterly unnecessary, except to provide a thrilling drive and an incredible view of US 50 (and later, the rest of Cañon City). Scenic views of the mountains and lush greenery surround this tight one-way road, but don’t take your eyes off the routethe narrow, rollercoaster-like corridor is a breathtaking, adventurous ride. There’s absolutely no logical reason for anyone to have built this road. The 2.8-mile Skyline Drive sits above Caon City west of Pueblo. The road begins here, as it passes through this archway. Skyline Drive is a one-way, one-lane paved road, just wide enough for a normal car, but not safe for an oversized vehicle like an RV. It’s name, Skyline Drive, seemed to suggest I’d find a good view at the top. Just a mile or two before arriving in town, I noticed the entrance to a road that was cut into the side of the hill.
The drive was built in 1905 by inmates from the nearby prison who were awarded time off of their sentence for every month they worked on this short scenic roadway that winds and falls like a roller coaster.
